It's been some hard days and nights, and he's been working like a dog. I am proud to introduce "God If I Saw Her Now", Thom Hell's third album.
HELLP, THOM'S UP and HELLO. These are some of many interesting title suggestions for this record. (Hello was used as working title and could have easily ended up as the albumtitle!). 'God If I Saw Her Now' on the other hand, appeared from out of the blue in a second hand vinyl shop. 'I'd been looking for this Anthony Phillips record, The Geese And The Ghost, for many years', says Thom. 'And when I finally found it I noticed one of the songs was called God If I Saw Her Now. I was always very fond of that particular song and I thought - I'll take it!' This Thom Hell album has some obvious references like Paul McCartney (more Wings than Beatles!), Beach Boys (less Mike Love!) and Pink Floyd (some Syd Barrett). There is also a hint of a more progressive sound. Thom even calls one of the songs the YES song...
Still, at the end of the day, i.e. 45.20 mins, when the record has played out, I think you will find that this most definitely is a Thom Hell record. And it's his best one. God If I Saw Her Now will be in stores from April 7th. Enjoy!
